Kick off your week with prayer!

Thursday Dec 04, 2025

In this episode of Wisdom's Table, I dive into the often overwhelming experience of December, a month that can feel both beautiful and brutal. As a mom of four, I share my personal struggles with the mental load that comes with juggling family commitments, holiday expectations, and the demands of running a business. I discuss the concept of mental load—an invisible weight that encompasses the decisions, reminders, and emotional energy required to manage our lives and the people we care about.
Throughout the episode, I emphasize the importance of recognizing our current capacity and honoring the season we are in. I encourage listeners to slow down and let go of the pressure to be superhuman, reminding them that if God has called us to something, we have the capacity for it, even if we can't do it all at once. I outline three key strategies to help manage the mental load and maintain peace during this busy time.

In this special Thanksgiving episode of Wisdom's Table, Rachel Wortman delves into the transformative power of gratitude and its profound impact on our lives as Christians. As we gather around the table to celebrate this holiday, I want to shift our focus from the traditional elements of Thanksgiving—like turkey, pie, and football—to the spiritual power that the act of giving thanks can unlock in our lives.
Throughout the episode, we explore five hidden powers that Thanksgiving activates, emphasizing that these are not just feel-good sentiments but essential spiritual strategies that can reshape our hearts and minds. We begin by discussing how Thanksgiving opens the gate to God's presence, illustrating this with powerful scriptures such as Psalm 100:4-5 and Philippians 4:6-7. We emphasize that the act of giving thanks is a key that allows us to enter into a deeper relationship with God, inviting His presence into our lives.

In this episode of Wisdom's Table, I, Rachel Wortman, delve into the exciting yet often daunting journey of bringing God-sized ideas to life. We explore the moments when God drops a profound idea into our spirits. Ideas that feel expansive, electric, and capable of changing lives. However, the initial excitement can quickly turn into trepidation as we confront the reality of our limitations and the challenges of execution.
I emphasize that while receiving a prophetic word or idea is relatively easy, the real challenge lies in the stewardship and leadership required to manifest that idea into reality. To help you navigate this process, I outline four wise steps to take when you receive a God-sized idea.

In this episode of Wisdom's Table, I invite you to dive deep into the transformative power of rest as a spiritual strategy. After a fiery discussion in last week's episode, today we shift gears to explore a more soothing yet profound topic: the importance of rest in our Christian lives.
I begin by addressing the common struggles many of us face like feeling tired, overwhelmed, and unable to quiet our minds long enough to hear God's voice. I emphasize that rest is not merely a physical necessity but a vital component for restoring our souls. Many of us confuse rest with inactivity or laziness, believing that if we stop working, everything will fall apart. However, I challenge this notion by highlighting that true rest is a biblical principle and a source of strength.
Throughout the episode, I introduce an acronym for REST: Release, Enter, Satisfy, Together. Each component is essential for understanding how to engage with God and find true peace.

Also, I want to personally invite you to my new coaching community. Check out the Kingdom Leaders Community HERE

In this episode of Wisdom's Table, I dive deep into a topic that quietly sabotages many Christian entrepreneurs: double-mindedness. I felt compelled to share this prophetic word, knowing that many of us have experienced the tension between faith and fear at various points in our lives.
We explore how double-mindedness shows up. Not through a lack of talent or opportunity, but as a split between believing in God's provision while simultaneously worrying about our decisions. This internal conflict can cost us peace, money, and momentum in our callings. I emphasize that God is not vague, and the Holy Spirit is not confusing; therefore, we shouldn't feel the need to hedge our bets when it comes to our faith.
I reference James 1:5-8, which highlights the importance of asking God for wisdom in faith without doubting. I clarify that doubt, in this biblical context, is more than mere skepticism; it can lead to a state of double-mindedness, which is essentially doubt that has taken root. I break down the concept of double-mindedness, explaining that it can be characterized by a weak will, divided interests, and a lack of commitment to our faith.
